Jani is serving in her first four-year term on the Salt Lake County Council as the representative from District 4 (MAP) which encompasses southeast Salt Lake City, Millcreek Township, Emigration Township, Holladay, parts of Cottonwood Heights, and northern Sandy.
Jani currently serves a Chair of the Council's Public Works Subcommittee and represents the County Council on the following:

In addition to her Council duties, Jani serves as a Trustee for Central Utah Water Conservancy District and on the Council on Aging.
